🚨 Glock Ban Moving in Springfield

Fri, Mar 20, 2026

It’s been a wild week in the fight for gun rights in Illinois.

As we told you on Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee pulled HB-4414 from consideration for the week. This is the bill that would serialize and register all ammo sold in Illinois.

Then, yesterday, the Gun Violence Prevention Committee pulled HB-3320 (Pritzker’s RIFL Act) from consideration at the last minute. More on that later.

Instead, the committee suddenly took up HB-4471.

This legislation would ban the sale of all Glock (and similar) handguns in Illinois, because violent predators in Chicago are converting them to shoot full auto.

(Rep. Slaughter is the lead sponsor of the Glock ban, and he has previously said that virtually all Republicans are racists.)

EMAIL THE COMMITTEE: VOTE NO ON THE GLOCK BAN!

As we all know, Glocks are the most popular handguns in the nation by sales volume. Banning this would do absolutely nothing to stop criminals, but it would stop women from being able to buy and carry Glocks for self-defense.

I want to be clear on this: Pritzker is not joking about this bill. He fully intends to pass this if he can get the votes.

That’s why all of his pals were ready to go for this committee:

👉 Moms Demand Action testified in support
👉 Giffords Law Center testified in support
👉 Everytown for Gun Safety testified in support

For those who are wondering about a grandfather clause, yes, the bill has one. But please understand what a trap this is. Don’t fall for it.

Pritzker wants you to hear that and let your guard down. But here’s the truth: if they pass this, the next time some dangerous criminal uses a Glock to kill a bunch of people, they’ll be back to remove the grandfather clause.

It’s happening, right now, in Rhode Island.

Rhode Island banned AR-15s last year. This year, the legislature is pushing a bill to confiscate all ARs in circulation today.

We need to fight this, right now.

EMAIL THE COMMITTEE: VOTE NO ON THE GLOCK BAN!

The good news is that while the committee took testimony on the bill yesterday, they did not vote on it. And that means we have time to act.

(Rep. Maura Hirschauer, the chair of the committee, did not say when the bill will be voted on. But she made it clear she wants to pass it, so begin a national movement to ban Glock sales.)

So pleaseemail the committee immediately.

Your pre-written email takes less than a minute to send, but it reminds every committee member that Illinois gun owners will hold politicians who vote for this accountable at election time.

P.S. Your pressure has stalled progress on ammo registration and the RIFL Act. Now Pritzker’s allies are pivoting to a Glock ban instead, hoping to catch gun owners off guard.
