Illinois politicians have spent decades attacking gun owners — ramming through gun control laws while releasing violent criminals onto our streets. That’s why the Illinois Firearms Association exists, to give gun owners a fighting chance in one of the most anti-gun states in America.
Most gun groups in Illinois play defense, whisper in Capitol hallways, and beg for crumbs from anti-gun politicians. That’s not how we operate. IFA uses aggressive direct mail, viral digital ads, text alerts, and email updates to mobilize thousands of gun owners to crush gun control bills and expose the politicians pushing them. We don’t just take on Democrats. We expose the “pro-gun” Republicans who vote for gun control and think no one’s watching. We’re not here to win popularity contests in Springfield. We’re here to protect your right to keep and bear arms — and we’ll fight anyone who tries to take it.
Sure, we’ve made enemies. We’re not invited to every insider function. The media hates us. And politicians from both parties want us gone. But they hate us because we’re effective — and because we’ve already stopped massive gun control bills. (See our Timeline for the full list.)
Our members helped blocked ammo rationing, civil liability insurance requirements for gun owners, and multiple attempts to tax guns and ammunition into oblivion. We’re building the pressure needed to repeal Illinois’ gun control laws — piece by piece.
