If anyone believes things are slowing down in Springfield, the filing of SB-2652 should have ended that illusion.
The Glock Ban bill was introduced just days ago, so we all know that Governor Pritzker and anti-gun Democrats are actively plotting their gun control agenda for the year.
If you’ve watched Springfield long enough, you know the pattern.
Anti-gun politicians file their bills early in session, allow them to sit while attention shifts elsewhere, quietly line up votes behind closed doors, and then move everything at once as we approach May.
That is how some of the worst gun control laws in Illinois history have passed.
Right now, multiple gun control bills are in the pipeline:
👉 SB-2652 — the recently filed Glock Ban
👉 HB-3320 — the RIFL Act designed to end gun manufacturing
👉 HB-43 — the civil liability mandate for a FOID Card
👉 HB-1398 — turning pediatricians into gun control investigators
So while these bills have not come to the floor yet, that is not reassuring.
Springfield Democrats routinely let opposition die down before scheduling floor votes, looking for the least amount of resistance. When a bill goes quiet, it usually means they are actively ‘whipping’ votes behind closed doors.
Governor Pritzker has made clear that he despises an armed population.
He pushes confiscation and registration bills constantly — anything he can do to disarm us one step at a time.
So we cannot afford to ‘go quiet’ as gun owners.
That’s why we need to apply pressure now — before they spring their ambush.

Even when legislation appears stalled, it’s not.
Pritzker’s team is counting votes. If they believe gun owners are organized and watching, they slow down. If they think we’ve tuned out, they move fast.
We are not promising victory. But we can promise that ILFA will be doing everything we can to hold the line here in Springfield.
The ambush window is coming — it’s only a question of when.
